Suave and sophisticated, the latter was seen as a Western-style politician, who sent his son to study at Harrow, one of the most exclusive private schools in Britain. Yet he sought to revitalise interest in the country's communist past under Mao Zedong. 
Someone who is suave is charming, polite, and elegant, but may be insincere.
